A really nice early 20th Century Claverdon, Upchurch vase dated 1938, which is the first year that the artist, ceramicist and scientist, Alice Buxton Winnicott, acquired Upchurch Pottery. It has a very tactile sea foam green/blue matt glaze and has impressed marks to the base as shown.
